Ada Solomon

Ada Solomon has worked in the film business for the last 20 years. She has served as a line producer for foreign international projects such as Franco Zeffirelli\'s CALLAS FOREVER and Didi Danquart\'s OFFSET or recently Hermine Huntgeburth\'s TOM SAWYER & HUCK FINN. From 2004, setting up her own company - HiFilm, Ada has produced award-winning shorts by Cristian Nemescu (MARILENA FROM P7) & Radu Jude (THE TUBE WITH A HAT), debut features by Radu Jude (THE HAPPIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD), Melissa de Raaf, Razvan Radulescu (FIRST OF ALL, FELICIA), Paul Negoescu (A MONTH IN THAILAND) and documentaries by Alexandru Solomon (KAPITALISM - OUR IMPROVED FORMULA), among others. She is currently developing the docu-science-fiction TARZAN’s TESTICLES by Alexandru Solomon, as well as Radu Jude\'s third feature AFERIM!, after the award-winning EVERYBODY IN OUR FAMILY, which premiered in the Berlinale\'s Forum in 2012 and received the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Film, Bayard d’Or for Best Film & Best Actor in Namur among 16 other awards. The films produced by Ada Solomon were presented & awarded in the most prestigious festivals as Berlinale, Cannes, Locarno, Venice, Sundance - to name just a few from the over 100 awards received. Ada Solomon co-produced with France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria, Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Croatia, Bulgaria & Hungary. Her films are released in over 40 territories, around the world. Apart of her producing job Ada Solomon is also Head of Distribution in Parada Film & is managing (together with Tudor Giurgiu) Cityplex -3 mini-plex cinemas in Romania, member of Europa Cinemas, as well as being Founder & Executive Director of Short & Medium Length Int’l Film Festival NexT & teaching in the National Film School in Bucharest. With CHILD\'S POSE (Pozitia copilului) by C?lin Peter Netzer, Ada Solomon produced the Berlinale FIPRESCI & Golden Bear Winner of 2013. Luminita Gheorghiu was nominated for Best Actress in European Film Academy. Ada Solomon is National Coordinator of EAVE, graduated of ACE & member of the board of European Film Academy and was awarded with the Co-production Award by Eurimages in EFA Awards Ceremony 2013.
