Carine holds a double Master Degree in Business and Administration from Laval University in Quebec and from the Grenoble Business School and Master Degree in documentary cinema from Paris 7 University. She is an alumni of EURODOC and EAVE.
After a career in sales and marketing in Canada, Carine Chichkowsky decided to work for her passion, cinema and documentary films. She went on to be production manager for several companies producing short films, videoclips and documentaries for almost ten years. Since 2009, she was the executive producer for the Films de la Villa of Mafrouza, a monumental documentary cycle of 5X150’, that won the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival.
In 2010 she founded Survivance, together with Guillaume Morel, an independent production and distribution company. With a dozen produced films which premiered at the Berlinale, Toronto, Locarno, Rotterdam and key documentary festivals (Nyon, FID, Festival du Reel, CPH Dox...) Survivance was also the receipient of funding from CNC, EURIMAGES, Doha Film Institute, and the Hubert Bals Fund.
