Elli Toivoniemi

Elli Toivoniemi is a producer based in Helsinki, who has worked as a producer, line producer, casting director and assistant director, in the production of several short and feature films and commercials. Toivoniemi\'s first feature as a producer was The Good Son(directed by Zaida Bergroth, 2011) was selected to more festivals worldwide than any other Finnish film in 2011-2012, and it also received several prizes, like Golden Hugo in Chicago. Currently she is working with various feature films. Korso ( directed by Akseli Tuomivaara) premiers in February 2014, and feature documentary Song ( directed Selma Vilhunen) that will be released in December 2013. Toivoniemi is the leading producer, a co-founder and co-owner of the production company Tuffi Films Ltd. Toivoniemi´s films have been nominated and awarded in several outstanding film festivals like Sundance,TIFF,Chicago, Berlinale and Aspen. Tuffi Films produces both fiction and documentary films of various lengths. It produces films that must be done. Films that challenge what is considered being worth telling.
