David Herdies was born 1974 in Stockholm, Sweden. He has studied Media, Religion and Culture and has also done a post-graduate course in Arts and Culture at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. David Herdies is a Swedish producer, director and the CEO of Momento Film. Herdies’ has a solid experience of producing creative documentaries internationally, and his films have been screened and awarded on festivals around the world. He has participated in international co-production workshops such as Eurodoc, ACE and Twelve for the Future and is presently in the board of Nordisk Panorama and Tempo Documentary Festival. Among his prior films can be mentioned The Guerilla Son, Peabody-awarded Give us the Money, A Separation and Winter Buoy by Cannes-awarded director Frida Kempff. Since 2014, David Herdies is developing a fiction department at Momento Film and has two features in development, Madame Luna by Binyam Berhane and Because by Karin Westerlund, and the short film project Break the Silence that gathers five Cannes awarded directors on one subject.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away on March 3. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
