Stéphane is a part of the filmmakers duo called « Blies brothers ». Stéphane Hueber-Blies and Nicolas Blies are two brothers who make and write their films together. They start their writing careers with the transmedia documentary SOUNDHUNTERS in co-production with the Franco-German TV channel ARTE in 2015. The project is selected for the Prix Europa in Berlin, at SXSW and the New York Film Festival in 2016. They also win the FIPA d’Or 2015 (Sm@rtFIPA category), the Prix du Courrier International in 2016 and the Audience and Best Innovation Project Awards at the Sechuan Festival in China. They then seek to develop their filmography around a social impact cinema. Each of their films is thus accompanied by concrete actions aimed at impacting the theme addressed. Their first social impact film is ZERO IMPUNITY in 2019, and deals with sexual violence in wartime. A 90’ feature-length film mixing animation and real image currently enjoying great success in festivals, with premieres at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival (Contrechamp category), the Moscow International Film Festival, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival or Palm Springs International Film Festival. The digital and social impact part of the project won the FIPA d’Or 2017 (Sm@rtFIPA category) and was selected for the Visa d’Or de l’information France TV. Stéphane and Nicolas are currently working on their second feature film, GHOSTDANCE, co-directed with Canadian-born Abenaki filmmaker Kim O’Bomsawin and co-written with Valérie Beaugrand-Champagne (co-writer on INCENDIES by Denis Villeneuve). The film project was selected for the Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux in 2019 and to the market at Les Arcs Film Festival 2019. In parallel, they are working on the development of their first real-time animation film in virtual reality, SOLEILS NOIRS (Selected in development at CinéMart IFFR 2020).

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away on March 3. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
