Tui Ruwhiu is a graduate of the EAVE Producers Workshop 2016, which he attended with drama project Tender Age.
Tui comes from a long background in video and TV as a writer, director, producer and executive producer across news, information and entertainment programming.
In 2013 Tui produced the short film Pumanawa: the Gift, which was selected for the Hawaii, Fort Lauderdale, Drama, and New Zealand International Film Festivals among others.
Tui was an executive producer of the New Zealand Film Commission\'s high-end short film fund Premiere Shorts from 2010 - 2012. He oversaw the selection and production of four short films that went on to festival success at Telluride, Palm Springs, Valladolid and other international film festivals.
Tui has trained as a script editor via the Script Factory, NZFC First Feature Film Lab with Keith Thompson (The Sapphires, Clubland), and the Script to Screen FilmUp Mentorship Programme with script consultant Brita McVeigh.
Tui currently has three feature films in development with NZFC, one with funding from the MPA APSA FIlm Academy Fund in Brisbane Australia, and a fantasy TV drama series in development with Sir Richard Taylor\'s Pukeko Pictures.
Tui is a board member of Nga Aho Whakaari Maori in Film and Television, Film Auckland, and Executive Director of the Directors & Editors Guild of NZ.
