Helga Binder

Helga Binder has a master degree in German and French Literature and History of Art and entered the film industry in 1993. She worked with funding institution Filmstiftung NRW as deputy Head of production support. In 2000 she joined film production company Tatfilm as producer where she worked on international co-productions as well as on first time film makers features. Her projects include ‘Das Vaterspiel’ by Michael Glawogger, ‘Happy ever afters’ by Stephen Burke, ‘Monkeys in winter’ by Milena Andonova or ‘Within the Whirlwind’ by Marleen Gorris amongst others. After ten years in production she moved on to the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM) as a member of the artistic and academic staff for film production and distribution. Aside from that she worked as a consultant for independent production companies, as an expert for the MEDIA programme of the European Union and held seminars on film financing. In April 2014 she rejoined Film- und Medienstiftung NRW GmbH as deputy head of film film funding with a special focus on international co-productions.
