Palmyre works as producer at AKKA FILMS - Geneva.
Palmyre studied Arabic Literature and International Relations at Sorbonne University and has worked in the fields of journalism, diplomacy and international artistic exchanges. Her career in the film industry began in 2006, while working on the development of films from the Middle East. In 2007 she became associate producer of the Palestinian production company DAR FILMS.
In 2008, Palmyre graduated with a Masters in Law and Management for the Audiovisual Industry. The same year, she founded in Paris LES FILMS DE ZAYNA an independent production company with a strong focus on stories and talents from the Arab World. Through European and international coproductions, Palmyre produced documentaries and fiction by Raed Andoni, Nassim Amaouche, Sameh Zoabi, Mais Darwazeh, Anas Khalaf and Rana Kazkaz. With her EAVE project GHOST HUNTING (2017), she won the Best documentary award of the Berlinale.
She joined Akka Films\' production team Nicolas Wadimoff and Philippe Coeytaux in 2018.
Her latest titles includes:
- RAILWAY MEN (2018) a documentary by Tunisian-French director Erige Sehiri, premiered at Visions du Réel, IDFA and Lussas,
- TINY SOULS (2019) a documentary by Jordanian director Dina Naser, premiered at CPH DOX, Leipzig, Sheffield and Busan,
- MARIA COBRA PRETA (2019) a short fiction by Swiss-Spanish director Erika Nieva da Cunha, to be premiered in Winterthur short film festival in Nov. 2019.
Among others, Palmyre currently develops Konstantin Bojanov\'s third feature, Larissa Sansour & Søren Lind\'s first feature, and coproduces with Eave EPW graduated Vladimer Katcharava the Georgian project VENICE by Rusudan Chkonia.
